What are TMR Thumbsticks?
TMR stands for Tunnel Magneto-Resistive. Instead of carbon wipers physically dragging across a resistive track (the design that eventually wears out and causes drift), TMR sticks use magnetic sensors to read stick position with zero physical contact between the moving parts.
No contact means no wear. No wear means no drift, ever. They also draw less power and offer higher precision than the original sticks, giving you a smoother, more accurate feel.
TMR vs Hall Effect: What's the Difference?
Hall effect sticks were the first contactless upgrade and they work brilliantly. TMR sticks are the newer generation: more sensitive, lower power draw, and a feel that's closer to a factory-fresh DualSense or Xbox stick.
Both eliminate drift permanently. We recommend TMR for most modern controllers because of the improved precision and smoother movement, but if you'd prefer Hall effect we can fit those too. Just ask.

What are TMR thumbsticks?
TMR (Tunnel Magneto-Resistive) thumbsticks are a contactless replacement for the standard potentiometer sticks fitted to most controllers. Because there are no carbon wipers physically rubbing against a track, they never wear out, which is what causes the drift you eventually get with standard sticks.

Are TMR thumbsticks better than Hall effect sticks?
Both are contactless and both eliminate stick drift. TMR sticks are the newer technology and offer higher precision, lower power draw and a smoother feel that's closer to a stock controller. We recommend TMR over Hall effect for most modern controllers, but we can fit either.
